Sandra & Farra

I enlisted Dorine’s help for my dog Farra. At the age of one and a half, when I got her, Farra was a frightened and abused dog. At first, she was wary of other dogs but that was gradually changing. At home, however, Farra became increasingly defensive. When friends or relatives came over, I was able to handle her, but when another dog came along, Farra would panic and she kept on barking and growling anxiously.
I asked Dorine to help me deal with this and stop Farra from becoming aggressive.

Dorine came to see me with her own dog Hint and right at the door Farra’s problems became evident. Dorine started to work on this straight away, together with Pathos. With her insights I learned how to interpret Farra’s behaviour.

She also gave practical tips on how to act with my dog and how to correct her. We practiced entering the house a few times until Dorine was able to control Farra. (It was almost like a reset) and I could start practicing by myself. Then we brought in the neighbour’s dog. At first, it was apprehensive, based on previous visits, but Farra allowed the dog in without complications.

Within about two hours, Dorine managed to have two dogs in my house eating snacks while sitting next to each other. One of the other dogs could even lie down in Farra’s dog basket without Farra reacting at all. During our subsequent walk, Dorine provided me with lots of other tips on how to handle Farra.

Dorine’s instructions have been very helpful and I was able to carry them out by myself after our session. In my opinion, Dorine is a skilled and determined dog trainer with a lot of experience and a no-nonsense mentality. As Farra has meanwhile entered the age of puberty, I will most certainly call on Dorine to help me again.”
